Dear Friends,
Memories of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy triggers a great positivity in the life of every Bengali throughout ages. An extra ordinary personality with multifaceted talents , B C Roy has contributed immensely to the creation of modern Bengal,. There can be no hesitation to allude to him as “THE ARCHITECT OF MODERN BENGAL”.
Later, His B C Roy was himself an extra ordinary medical professional. He created a number of hospitals appropriate for the needs of the region—The TB hospital, Cancer hospital, Infectious disease hospital, The Children’s Hospital and many others. He gave birth to the concept of Indian Medical Association and the Medical Council of India. He created new townships such as Durgapur, Kalyani, Salt Lake, Ashokenagar and Habra. He revolutionized industrialization in the state. He was a passionate Bengali politician and a patriot par excellence.
We are approaching his 14oth Anniversary and certainly do not need any specific reason to celebrate the day with grandeur. The “Bidhan Celebrations” on 1st July 2022 will be reminder for all of us and a source of direction and inspiration for many generations to come.
May I take this opportunity to welcome you all to be a part of this journey of memories and inspiration to build a Better Bengal.
